This tablet was made by a young Babylonian student in the city of Kish trying—and failing—to calculate the area of a triangle around 1900–1600 BCE.

A small tablet with an inscription in Babylonian cuneiform. The tablet depicts a right triangle, with cuneiform written along two legs and in the center, in an attempt to calculate the area of the triangle. The tablet was written by a young Babylonian student at school around 1900–1600 BCE, and excavated from the ancient city of Kish. Amusingly, the calculation of the area is incorrect.
