The first official report from Spain's blackout: a collection of big generators (coal, gas, nuclear) failed to absorb voltage issues as they were meant to.

That led to major generation outages, which led to an unstoppable collapse.
Spanish government blames power plant and grid operators for catastrophic blackout - Euractiv
“We just did not have the means to stabilise the grid,” Spain's environment minister said.

One week on from Spain's blackout - and media outlets can talk about is solar power. So I decided to look into Spain's nuclear fleet, and discovered that in April, it was operating at its lowest levels in ten years

Why? Here's a hefty piece digging into that, for you:

Zoom out to the last election. Labor might now exceed its two-party preferred vote when it was elected (52.1%), making it the only first-term Australian government ever to do that (according to Antony Green).

INGRAHAM: You're tougher with Canada than you are with our biggest adversaries. Why?

TRUMP: Only because it's meant to be our 51st state. One of the nastiest countries to deal with is Canada.

From a source: “Just had a co-presenter for a buildings research conference bow out. She’s a dual citizen and the FBI came knocking to ask her about her involvement in coauthoring chunks of the Paris Agreement.

pretty eye-watering numbers. Imagine if the media outlets that trumpeted these old, bigger estimates issued corrections......
Moreover – missed by basically all the news coverage – the costs of this transition are radically lower than the CCC thought just 5yrs ago

Investment needs halved from £1.3tn to £0.7tn
Net costs down by three-quarters from £0.4tn to £0.1tn

Those are huge shifts!

In their rush to destroy our government

The Trump administration fired the workers who keep our nukes safe

And-realizing how badly they screwed up

Are trying to rehire them

But can’t-because they don’t know how to get in touch with the fired workers

The incompetence is unprecedented

Fact check: nearly 70 percent of US money for Ukraine actually went to US defense industry to replenish the stocks of OLD stuff that went to Ukraine to use.

Much of which we would have paid to destroy as their lifespan expired.

Nuclear advocacy out of Canada and the US has become an active part of the Australian conservative push to extend coal/gas power and kill wind and solar plans...
