The Fediverse has more of an early-internet wild west feel to it, which I think is mostly, but certainly not entirely, good. Bluesky is collecting more big names, which has benefits but, after Twitter, I’m not really looking for again.

Anyway. Yay #twexit wherever you end up. The Internet is neat.

I don’t have any animosity towards Bluesky; they do some things better (domain names make better IDs than email-address-lookalikes!).

But the Fediverse is properly decentralized. Bluesky’s structure & VC backing are reproducing too many of the things we should have learned from Twitter.
