We seek organized sessions, panels, and roundtables (in-person or online) as well as volunteered papers (in-person or online) and posters (in-person only).

SAS encourages active student participation and facilitates student incorporation into the professional research community.

SAS is committed to a broad, integrative, holistic vision of anthropological science. We are happy to host panels, posters or papers from any subfield or topic that fits within the mission of the Society (www.societyforanthropologicalsciences.org/p/about.html).

We encourage anyone (especially students) interested in creating or connecting with others for an oral session to reach out to the program committee via email.

SAS is happy to assist in connecting members to create sessions. You can reach out to SAS members through the listserv by sending an email to: [email protected].

Contributions from students, pre-tenure scholars, applied or practicing anthropologists, and individuals from groups underrepresented in the academy are particularly desirable.

The program committee (Max Stein, Werner B. Hertzog, Michael Thomas, Vera da Silva Sinha, and Toni Copeland) is excited to see a strong pool of SAS relevant posters and panels this year, and we’re happy to work with you to try and match people with overlapping interests.

AAA is not accepting individual volunteered papers this year, but they are accepting individual volunteered posters. Some people have expressed interest in assistance creating their posters. SAS plans to post information to help with this on our website.
