The likelihood of the chord being in a particular band of x values is proportional to the arc-length along the circle of that interval. That’s shorter near the middle, and longer towards the sides (one can write this down as an integral involving arcsin if you like)

Parameterize the vertical chords by where they hit the x axis. Note that (being a disk of radius 1), wherever it’s located in the circle, it will intersect some interval of chords of width 2.
