In her USRA, supervised by Dr. Amanda Wissler, Mackenzie is investigating how mouse models can be used to support bioarchaeological stress research in identifying the causes of skeletal markers. Mackenzie is dissecting mouse skeletons and preparing histological slides of mouse femur bones.
