Primarily writing about streamable things. Sometimes real life.
Yknow, with cruise and Arnie and other old megastars so invested in his rise, maybe it’s a being John Malkovich thing. One day they’ll all just live in his head, juice overload.

Democrat politicians complaining we’re making their jobs harder by asking for reform, consequences and accountability need to toughen up or get out of the way.

Personally, I at least achieved “Poncho” level competence at rhythm guitar, but once I heard Electr-O-Pura all hopes at soloing technique were replaced by a fever whose only cure was more SKRONK.

If you announce Louis XIV had some bops I’ll try to at least respond with sickos jpeg

“Dead Man” and “truck fulla amps” also good, but “pattycake” was huuuge at my college radio station. The indie-hating station prez whose reign was as stalinesque as a college radio reign can get even asked why we can’t play more songs like “Pattycake.”

Get thee to “Pattycake”!!

Tangentially, I regret that “Wax Ecstatic” wasn’t enough to get Sponge out of this. And I have thoroughly resented every time Ruh Root comes up after this year.

This is phenomenal, my minor quibble a sign of how solid this is - I personally associate Self more with the Gizmodgery year.

Yeah I get chafing at writers who make it a parasocial thing (tho I think that’s a game she’s atypically complicit in), but considering the long list of people who at least say “take me off your playlist” it’s genuinely notable if she doesn’t. And I think more of a biz thing.

I’d say this specific choice - not joining the choir of artists saying “uhh don’t use my music, Christ” - may be more evocative of the businesses passively tolerating a fascist regime to avoid negative attention from it.

What vibe are you looking for?

Also it’s the nature of social media that the numerous ways people need to process this - humor, horror, obsession, detachment, anger, etc etc - not just co-exist with each other, but the news itself, in the same crowded trough.
