As it rightfully should. :)

Regardless of the size, I think it’s fair to say that the average creative agency today is too invested in tech, trends, efficiency, protocol… lots of other things - in anything but imagination and humanity.

P.S. I’m not implying that your company is like that. :)

Have you redecorated your bathroom?

In my professional experience, they don’t even try. Most tech companies/individuals churn out their “tools” and are eager to just shove them down one’s throat.

You can see it across many industries, but with tech, it’s especially the case - because of how ubiquitous the industry has become.

Lower-downs, of course. :)

And I’m speaking of marketing as a whole, not just advertising.

By “those in charge” I refer to all kinds of decision makers in general, both higher-ups and lower-ups - marketers, designers, creative directors, execs, owners, shareholders…

The tech industry has brainwashed those in charge - gaslighted them into thinking that automation, data, and analytics are what they need.

They treat creativity as if it was math - without realizing that there’s yet to be computational power for calculating the irrationality of human perception.

What is it?

That depends on your definition of what ads are. :)

> “If you feel that this is unfairly critical of social media…”

No - you have every right (and basis!) to be so. :)

Said process, however, isn’t necessarily predicated upon one person having a direct contact with a large number of other people, but, rather, it can sufficiently work via chain reaction.

Ideas can and do spread like wildfire - and all the tech helps accelerate it.
