Anyway the problem with a permanent vibescession caused at least in part by social media posturing is that while it might screw Trump in the short term it really screws the politics of generosity and solidarity in the long term. Believing times are bad makes people more selfish.

For many years, I created images for the family holiday card. Working with a local printer, I sometimes created unusual designs that could serve as decorations. This “card” from 1997 folded into a pyramid for display on a table or mantel. 2/3

To wake up this morning to the @latimes.com naming #TheDoubleTax a top science book of the year... man I don't know... grateful beyond words really.

I'm glad I'm alive to see this work carried on.

my mom died like $60k in debt & the most affecting part of my childhood wasn’t even the violence, it was watching her cry at the table every week & scream “we’ll have to move” while she tried to manage bills & move shit between cards.

i’ve gone without a lot of shit rather than stack up interest.

I REALLY hope this doesn't happen with Bill Watterson. Those bootleg Calvin urinating stickers or kneeling before a cross are bad enough...

Galaxy Quest is my go-to when I feel depressed. It makes me laugh every time, and ‘Never give up! Never surrender!’ has been a great mantra in a tight corner. I adored the original Star Trek I watched in monochrome in the 1960s. I honestly believe it expanded my understanding of the world.

You can hear Parisot tell the story below.

Rickman (and others) HATED Tim Allen. Rickman lays into him in his diaries.

It's one reason the film works so well. Allen was IRL more like the Shatner parody of actor-who-overrates-himself than Shatner ever was.

Yep, and then compounded it with this bsky.app/profile/rinc...
this is a good illustration of how much the particular pathologies of the people in charge matter even if the forces pushing them don’t rely on individuals

donald trump has been evil don quixote for years, hating windmills is one of his most deeply held beliefs, so we don’t get to have wind power
Burgum: "Today we're sending notifications to the 5 large offshore wind projects that are under construction that their leases will be suspended due to national security concerns ... the Dept of War has come back conclusively that these large offshore wind programs create radar interference"

this literally just comes back to “the particular dipshit who ended up in charge got mad about wind turbines near his golf course a long time ago”

seems like Mr. Nunez got a jury with a shared system of interests and values, just not Miller’s values

Oh, good. That’s better than hearing business over the holidays has been so bad that stamps dot com is closing two of their brands and letting half the staff go.
