The latest single by @johnserrano.bandcamp.com is rather wild! It feels unsteady and all over the place in the best of ways.
And then @edwardgivens.bsky.social turns the dial to 11 with his additions on the English version! 😆
Fantastic storytelling!

Highly, highly recommended!

"I really wonder why so many people think they're not good enough or worry about their size – and why they think they have to look like these people they see on a screen?"

Snippet from an imagined letter inspired by my latest single Piece of Art.

It’s #bandcampfriday and I have a new single out called Piece Of Art. It’s about body positivity which is a tricky topic to sing about. I wrote the lyrics together with Shawn Hockaday. I do hope we did the topic justice.

How many times do you stand in front of the mirror and think "Oh, sh*t!! I'm ugly. I need to lose at least 20 pounds!"

What if you talked to yourself like a friend instead?

You're perfect just the way you are!

That's the message of my new song Piece of Art, coming to #bandcamp tomorrow.

This is the cover of my single Piece of Art. I love how the pieces of seashells might be imperfect and broken, yet they shimmer so beautifully!

The song is about body positivity, so I thought it was fitting as we are all pieces of art by nature.

It's out on #bandcamp this Wednesday, 4 February.

The moment you notice you forgot how to play one of your own songs! 😬 Scary! 😰 Luckily I had a lead sheet and a recording. Was able to remember because of that! 😅

Oh well. In the end it isn't the end of the world. It was frustrating last night but luckily I have a decent enough demo of the song, so will be able to recreate some of the stems from that. It might even be better than before! 😉
Ahhhh, isn't home recording beautiful? Especially when you manage to totally destroy a project you've been working on for several years in a couple of minutes? Just because you wanted to record the guitar and accidentally erased another stem of which you have no backup? Yeah. 😞

Has writing letters become a lost art? And what if each song on an album could be a letter to a friend? I'm exploring that idea in my latest letter on Patreon.

Last night I went to a choir performance and in their last piece they included a glass harp! That was SO beautiful. I think I might include it on one of my future recordings. It's definitely something I want to explore.

Not gonna lie…the last two days were exhausting. I’m too tired to practice cello but guitar always works.

Trying out open tunings; just playing around with them! Feels like meditating in a way. I have no idea what I’m doing but it’s fun!
January 23, 2026 at 6:48 PM
What open tunings can you recommend for a beginner? 🤔

Deep in the creative process right now, working on the albums Letter To A Friend and Fairies In Disguise.

I’m trusting the process. It feels calm.

Happy Sunday! Some thoughts I like writing by hand...it feels more intentional and grounded. My lyrics I have to type because my mind jumps around too much! But for reflections and ideas, writing by hand is just right.

It’s no big secret that I am a huge fan of @johnserrano.bandcamp.com ! His voice and music are so very special. It’s a perfect blend of jazz, fusion, pop, rock, flamenco, r&b, soul…..his voice is incredible and he plays all the instruments himself! Of course I had to get his latest album on #vinyl!

For those curious about Nashville tuning:

It means that the four lower strings (6–3) are tuned an octave higher than usual, while the top two stay the same.

Regular steel strings can snap or worse, damage the guitar.

These are the ones I use.

All of my guitars have names – this is Suzanne.
She’s a steel-string acoustic with Nashville tuning, and I used her on my song January. The tuning adds a little extra sparkle.
