It's crazy because when you're a kid it's like "that guy is my best friend because he lives on my street :)" but as an adult I feel like I have no business talking to my neighbors (which is bad! I need to work on that!)

Really hard to strike that balance but the best thing you can do for you and everyone around you is to move forward better. Your good memories are good memories and that's all they'll be in the future. Cherish them, but know you don't get them back. You do, however, get your next decade.

I hear ya. It's honestly totally normal for stuff like that to pop up. I really struggle with "no one owes you forgiveness" because in my mind that's true but people I've hurt *deserve* an apology, but like, they also deserve to think "fuck her, I'm moving on" without me disrupting that.
