#Poilievre is so concerned about our biological clocks, perhaps he should focus on his ticking political clock.

As a PhD Candidate at #UofT, I am excited for innovative scholarship at Canadian institutions. At the same time, this scholarship must include well-funded, critical, and intersectional programs in the social sciences and humanities! Isn’t the need for these studies more apparent than ever?

I have worked in gender and sexual violence response and prevention in Canada and I am deeply troubled in Carney’s decision to ax the Minister for Women and Gender Equality. How can we defend ourselves from growing anti-feminist fascism here and elsewhere without government commitment? #WAGE #Carney

Eight years ago, I gave birth to my first child. I remember cradling my baby skin-to-skin while watching Trump’s first inauguration in shock and disbelief. My greatest hope this time around is that those who have resisted his politics continue to find the courage and strength to do so.

#AcademicSky Help! I’m a qualitative researcher with interest in some quantitative analysis, in particular looking at census data in Canada. Can anyone point out any solid resources?

Hi hi!

Looking for refugee researchers for a starter pack I created. Ping me if you want to be added.

Or is there anyone you could recommend?

Hi bsky folks!

I created a starter pack consisting of refugee researchers and research organisations. But, its hard to tell who does refugee research if its not written in the profile.

Pls recommend bsky folks or ping me to add you to the pack! Thanks so much! 🙏

As bell hooks reminds us the margins are sites of resistance, creativity, and community!
One thing I find interesting about the echo chamber complaint is that an echo chamber just won a presidential election.

Put aside the convo of whether it’s “good” or “bad” for a moment. The far right has devoted enormous resources + time to building echo chambers & loathes spaces they don’t control
The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.
