I felt the same about 1 and 2; 3 is better than 2 (which I barely remember now). The setup take a long time but once it gets rolling it’s ok, some enjoyable acting and a clever plot. To be 1 is still the best by far.

I can’t understand why people pay to see “classics“ (like John Hughes movies, etc.) in a theater when they’ve been shown constantly on cable for 30 years. That said, I’ve only seen Star Wars once or twice since it was in theaters, and it’s best on the big screen, so I might see this re-release.
