Slight change of plans — Hampton got pulled into directing another show the day we were to go to the auditions mentioned below.

And he simply couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the self-absorbed aging actress.

Pinterest gave me this the other day and I was all “me, choosing cooking music” and now, this week’s BRILLIANT MINDS feat. a ‘90s British boy band song from an album I 100% have forced on my husband in the kitchen.

Rude for the show to point out it was a song from 30 years ago, but here we are.

Mystery Men Productions premiered a new show in a couple of performances for spooky week, and tonight we celebrate the writer/director/producer’s birthday with…. a murder mystery game party.

Hampton brought home a koginut with no plan, so when I saw the below Pin, it seemed perfect to adapt for a stuffing. He prepped everything before a happy hour out, then warmed it with a panko/mimolette/crispy sage topping while I was walking home from ballet 🍽️

I didn’t get to do an activism today because acting. Feat. costume 6 at rehearsal for tomorrow’s “staged reading” and texts from Hampton, who got to tonight’s murder mystery first. Yes, the house at Dynamis Vineyards has a waterfall, and also the best catering of any murder mystery.

Well, this was a dang delight. Successfully made crispy gnocchi for the first time, Italian sausage from Smoke City Meats, shaved Brussels, and a maple/ACV/mustard goodness of a sauce. 🍽️🍋

Inspired by a salad we had once upon a time at Rolf & Daughters, roasted butternut with salsa macha and TJ’s new mimolette, and a shared NY strip from our local butcher with a thrown together mushroom sauce while the steak rested because we forgot we meant to do that 🍽️🍋

First day of school for the staged reading of a new musical.

Rehearsal dog didn’t tell me I forgot to change my glasses when I changed clothes after work before having dinner at a friend’s Oktoberfest and the ones on my face totally didn’t match this outfit.

Finally managed to ridiculous chip-crust chicken properly, with TJ’s new rosemary kettle chips. Also feat. TJ’s frozen mashed potatoes spiked with a hefty dose of their horseradish pub cheese, the only green beans Hampton has ever devoured, and TJ’s new garlic chips. Hashtag fancy basic 🍽️🍋

I wish this sauce looked less clunky bc holy cow, it was tasty, welcome fall. Pork tenderloin with bacon/mushroom sauce inspired by theforkedspoon.com/jagerschnitz..., sage spiked roasted acorn squash, and arugula with the fancy EVOO and red wine condiment from one of our fave Italian wineries. 🍽️🍋
