Thanks Theo! Yeah thought maybe someone with more knowledge might have a different suggestion than the usual handbooks but can recommend those as a starting point and Beyond Thalassocracies if feeling extremely keen!

Early-Middle Bronze Age, specifically in the Cyclades, is what I'm asking about

I know Eric's work of course! Student looking for something about a much earlier period, not the end of the Bronze Age

But the one I'm currently using for the first time (McKeown) doesn't seem to believe in composing anything longer than a sentence. So all the reading exercises are "work out the answers to these comprehension questions despite not knowing any of the grammar or vocab yet"...

Yeah, we don't have huge amounts to give (could never fund a project!) so small grants lets us at least help with v specific "I need to pay conference fees/image publication costs/childcare while I attend an event/etc" type needs (list definitely not exhaustive!)

(You have to be a WCC member but if you aren't already you can still apply and we just take the membership fee out of the grant. Which for students/un- and under-employed researchers is only £5)

Just put my order in at the independent feminist bookstore in Durham and also ended up recommending it to the person behind me in the queue, who heard me ordering and asked what it was! 😀
