Tomorrow we will be eating turkey but today we made Ukrainian borscht from local produce. Each mouthful was exquisite.

Wonderful Sunday morning hike around Puffer's Pond in @townofamherst.bsky.social. Good to see the waterfall replenished after the rain we had. The area is beautiful and unique in each season.

After donating warm clothes and money for the @umassamherst.bsky.social students displaced by the Olympia Drive fire, @hawkeceprof.bsky.social and I stopped by the site. We spoke to 2 displaced students and to a mother of one of them. 230 students lost what were their college "homes" and contents.

Our @townofamherst.bsky.social has declared a state of emergency. We'll be donating to support the 230 students displaced because of the fire. Thanks to the EMTs, firefighters from all the towns, and the police in this battle. @umassamherst.bsky.social is providing support in this disaster scenario.

Today the @umassinforms.bsky.social Student Chapter held a celebration at @isenbergumass.bsky.social. We are so honored and grateful that the Chapter was recognized by @informs.bsky.social with the Cum Laude Award recently at the Atlanta conference and that I received the President's Award. #orms
