As much as I too love joking about wishing we lived in precedented times, we can't ignore that current events are very much precedented, even if they're undesirable. Ignoring history's teachings is a massive mistake if we have any chance of rewriting future outcomes

it's the time of year when people start asking why are so many people sick when no one is masking, no one is staying home when sick, no one is getting their boosters, everyone is attending inside events with poor ventilation, and everyone is traveling
