I fund my climbing, crossword, motorcyling and aviation addictions by bashing my head against Fortran and Python in high-performance applications
Looks like the SMH crossword editor might have changed @lrlr.bsky.social's "Burned a licenced copy of reference books (13)"... Clue certainly doesn't fit the answer!

Okay fine, I went down the Home Assistant rabbit hole. Despite them trying to usher me away from running it in a container, I'm doing it anyway. Why didn't I set this up sooner!?

Time to finally stop sending GitHub notifications for watched repositories to my email. Will either use the notifications page or write something using the API, I think.

Been considering getting a Sublime Text (and Merge) license, it is quite nice. At the same time, emacs (and magit) is much less expensive!

I think I prefer jujutsu over git when it comes to personal projects. The commit wrangling is nice, and even though it's really minor I like being able to describe my current changeset rathen than after-the-fact commits (also helps me remember where I was on things!)

After however many years of working with Fortran, I finally learned the difference between assumed-size (`dimension(*)`) and assumed-shape (`dimension(:)`) arrays. Only really comes up when I'm doing battle with C/Python/Fortran interoperability anyway!

Circuit to secure transformer? (7)

Tough one, aptly so because it comes from the Telegraph Toughie 3,378. Good misdirection, I needed all the crossers: L_P_A_E

Maybe this will be my cryptic clue of the day, with a slightly unusual device: "Warm lisper's escorted to the door (4,3)"

Vampire Survivors and Halls of Torment are just the right kind of game for me at the moment. Only recently got Halls of Torment but it sure nails the Diablo theme!

I learned a bit about how Jupyter Clients start, and in the end I needed to go all the way down to network namespaces!

A descent into madness… The problem Let’s start with a motivation for why I’m even looking at network namespacing in the first place. The geoscientific framework I work on has a series of demos/tutor...
