Even if we put aside the farcical nature of the LLM slop bubble, it says so much that the "architects" pictured here are not the researchers that invented these systems, nor the actual (software) architects designing the systems to use them at scale. It's the money people, the hype men, the owners.

Yeah, like I don't have an issue with autonomous electric vehicles in theory, I just get annoyed when people say it's the "future of transportation." It's part of the mentality that we can just make minor tweaks to our more environmentally problematic systems and expect everything to be all good

Yeah, electric scooters are cool, although there really needs to be better enforcement on age verification, both on a governmental and company level. Every time I've seen a pedestrian get hit on the sidewalk, or one blow through a red light, or one weave in between cars going 30, it's always a child

Meanwhile, all we have is those electric scooter rentals whose default state is haphazardly tossed in random creves like an empty soda can, and who's main use is being ridden by literal children weaving in and out of traffic when they aren't busy slamming into people on the sidewalk.

I find it almost more vulgar than the sheer apathy of Gen X. It say "I understand the issue and yet am unwilling to do anything about it beyond light social self-flagellation," while also lowkey asking the listener for absolution like this is Catholic confessional or something.

We really need higher standards than being willing to speak out against Trump. But alas we even had the democratic establishment cozying up to the far-right neocon extremist Liz Cheney just because she had at least some level of principle regarding Trump.

He's had fundraisers hosted by fossil fuel lobbyists, with ExxonMobil's Senior Director for Federal Relations referring to him as "crucial." He's received significant funding from Big Tech and the health insurance industry. His legislative record is right-wing even for dem establishment standards.

Worth noting that neoliberalism and its monopolization were not a perversion, but a natural conclusion of the logics of the bourgeois state, so expecting state regulation to solve it is trying to swim upstream, but it's certainly better than expecting the "democracy of the dollar" to fix the issue.
