With that said I don't think I'll have like 8 million hours in it or anything, my main interest in the game is just fighting some bosses and tackling world bosses with my friends. I'm avoiding the paid cosmetics like the plague.

Again this particular problem won't rear its head against normal attacks. But I was dueling an old man in an optional fight and he was really fast. And it didn't seem possible to parry some of his faster attacks on my ping because he attacked too fast for the game to register my inputs.

I'm normally really good at parrying fast attacks in games but I wonder if a high ping is causing my character to not initiate the parry. (I'm not sure how to check it, it seems like many NA people are experiencing 200 ms ping) Like I won't even see the animation for the parry begin.

Though I will say as someone that really loves parry games, I question having a parry button in an online game where you can't choose a server location. I can parry most normal enemies and bosses fine, but kind of struggle with parrying really fast attacks.

I heard in one of the preview videos Samus doesn't really react or give a shit what the NPCs say so that definitely tracks.

yeah, considering all footage we've seen until today didn't have those NPCs definitely implies they aren't long for this world haha

haha yeah the computer is EXTREMELY heavy on the handholding at times. But that didn't stop Fusion from being one of the more legit scary games in the series.

Yeah, looking over what various content creators have said, they only got to play for the opening hour. Which isn't a huge deal. I love Fusion and that computer can be a chatty Cathy during plot moments and leaves you alone the rest of the game.

Okay now that I can actually watch the footage since I'm out of bed, it's probably safe to assume the sidekick people were talking about is either killed off early or only around for a very small amount of time. Because most of this is usual Samus wandering alone.

I know it’s a franchise that doesn’t sell a ton, but in an Elden Ring+Silksong world, we’ve seen games can sell insanely well without giving you a ton of guidance.
