I would call myself a realist, my wife would call me a pessimist, but my kids would call me an optimist. I like to think I'm just sardonic with a big heart.

Quite a bit before my time but agreed that Graceland is perfect.

The major issue for me is that Republicans don't have a plan. They rail and rail about how bad the system is while doing what they can to sabotage anything remotely close to triage. Bloviating gets them votes. It's just all so shameful, including the editor of this article.

2/ - Mores and Folkways are what my old Sociology professor would stress to me. It's the secret sauce that runs underneath the surface of every culture and every society. They sit at the root of almost all actions that population takes.

I'm a big proponent of environmental influence. In this example I think the mechanics of the game are the stand-in for "environmental" factors. A well fleshed out culture / society to me has a series of moré's that influence the direction the environmental factors force your population to go.

Been whistling that intro since the 90s. Amazing soundtrack.

Sometimes I respond to my wife with a "Shonuff, greatest Kung-Fu master in Harlem." and it never fails to get a sigh or an eye roll LOL.

That's awesome! I'm on the other side of the country but I have fond memories whenever I had a chance to haul freight down Cabbage pass. Driving through the area always felt like a glimpse into something sacred. Hard to describe. Love seeing news like this. Keep it up folks.

It just dawned on me that immediately after that bed gets re-hydrated there's probably a few million slugs, crawfish, and worms etc. that spring up almost immediately afterwards. I've got a vernal that pops up in the woods behind my house but nothing as dry or as grand as this. Big fan.

Thank you. It's a good reminder that if an ethereal voice from the elder patch asks you for your name not to give it. You may never get it back.

Love this silly plant. It satisfies my goldfish brain as I'm wandering the yard going from "Ooh look, sorrel!" to "Ooh look, more sorrel!" until I end up where I need to be.
