RW bigot mission accomplished 😔
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Fascinating article.

As an avid user of @inaturalist.bsky.social, I record a lot of “Flora urbanum” on my travels, so it’s interesting to see how widespread some of those ever-present weeds are.
Of the 8000 plant species introduced to cities around the world, about 300 are in cities on every continent and about 90 are basically in every city. Urbanization has selected for a common set of species that are the fingerprint of our activity: The urban florome.

I hate to say it, and don’t like to appear a Luddite, but it’s seemed obvious from the start that AI is - in the very vast majority of cases - a prime example of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”.
NEW: Welcome to the Great AI Bubble. Yes, it’s here. And yes, it’s going to burst.

It’s also got way more in common with the Epstein scandal than you really want to know.

“You have to integrate and contribute to British society and our economy”
[2years later]
“Bye then, hope your home’s still standing”
This contribution to the volume of human misery is yet another policy from Labour based on a false premise, in this case that refugees are overly attracted to Britain. It will increase bureaucratic limbo, thus making worse the problem of "cohesion" it purports to solve.

Today’s #BirdoftheDay theme is swans.
They are probably my most photographed bird: not usually too fast, large enough to focus on, and fairly ubiquitous! Even I can get the occasional decent shot 😂
This sunset shot is from Bolam Lake in #Northumberland where you can sometimes find 100+ mute swans.

Dear oh dear. It gets worse. The BBC memo that was leaked was not even a BBC memo, it was a report from a RW thinktank *to* the BBC. Said thinktank appears to be made up of a motley bunch of Farage advisers, Johnson sycophants, Restore Trust colonialism apologists and Trump fan-boys.
🔴 The Pro-Trump Bias of the ‘Neutral’ Sources in the Leaked BBC ‘Prescott Dossier’

Byline Times’ analysis of key sources in the memo about the BBC’s alleged ‘progressive bias’ shows it relied on highly partisan, Trump-aligned organisations.

He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

Sums it up. I can hardly read latest developments it makes me so sick. I’ll be amazed if the BBC gets out of this in any semblance of what it is currently. The RW zealots have an opportunity they’ve been waiting a couple decades for, and all the power & money so won’t stop until the BBC is crushed 😔
Whole fucking thing makes me sick to my stomach. An abject fucking liar, a man who lies as easily as he fucking breathes, threatening an organisation which strives for truthfulness. And plastic patriots like the Mail and Farage urging him on. Jackels.
