And there she was! Cornucopia hat. Bit too much of the same matte paintings. But (checks fingers) I'm not a mootaant!
...Onwards to the Alpha Child and Voyager's Return.
Both a bit "meh", to be honest.

Yes, I understand that - but I'm now a solid #5.

Given that today's task was 'clean the fridge' (including take out and scrub the shelves, use a toothbrush on the door seals, and remove the back panel to thoroughly vacuum the air intake), I'm a solid #4. Took two hours.

Netflix's recent 'Ripley', shot in monochrome, had that same vibe with me - though the danger, I suppose, is the risk of the cinematography overwhelming the story.

Dragon's Domain. I won't hear a bad word about this. It has backstory, exquisite pacing, Alan Carter bashed unconscious (twice). All good. Plus air-fryer cooked victims of the monster*.
*Ok, it's not a /great/ monster, but it scared the crap out of me, aged eleven.
Next up? Got to be Joan...

Still going! Peter Bowles turns up in tall shoes and black clothes. He's a Bad Guy, so Koenig shows him the door. Note to Alpha's Health and Safety bods: mere sticky labels declaring an airlock's presence is likely to cause accidents.

Slightly later, still. Christopher Flippin' Lee arrives in a badly-driven blue spaceship. Coloured perspex controls ultimately enable nasty Commissioner Simmonds to die the second-horribliest death in the series. Top marks!

Later. Koenig orders 'open fire' on three Earth warships, bloody miles away from Earth, without provocation. Weird aliens, surrounded by coloured perspex, explain why this was naughty. The end. A bit so-so, this one.

Best lessons I ever had AND remember? (And it's 45 years ago!)...
1/ How to wire a plug (and not die).
2/ Mortgages and how they work.
3/ Morals, Philosophy & Ethics.
...None of which were actually on the curriculum at the time. They were punted at me, by well-meaning teachers.

I would not be interested.
The programme was well structured and crafted. It was mostly a lovely (and sometimes disturbing) insight to the families and astronauts/cosmonauts connected with the Shuttle and Mir programs.
What /my/ opinion may make to a wider audience is ultimately pointless.

Maybe - just maybe - physics and biology should be compulsory at schools?

Seat belts... it's strange to think that /anyone/ ever thought that preventing an impact with the steering column, or going through the windscreen at 30mph (and more) was 'an infringement of their personal rights'. Dafties.

Jeez. #1 was WAY better than I thought.
ITV 'Border', meanwhile, never showed season Two, declaring it basically 'rubbish'. I shall therefore probably bow out before Maya turns up. But currently I can take more of this.
Next up? Review of series 1, ep 2. Which I did see, at the time.

My wife has seemingly paid for Itv-X. Checking the content, I see a pile of nothing-burger, PLUS Thunderbirds, Space 1999, and Everything Else 'Anderson'. I notice I therefore have a massive watchathon this month.

My French teacher would lead us all to The Language Lab (in 1976) and get us all to put on our headphones, when we'd be forced to listen to Max Boyce records for the duration of the class.
...Thank you, Mr Winterton.
