Was just reading some Mark Fisher and realizing that these retro tech images hark back to a time of popular modernism, where we own and learn from great books, film and music, and culture transforms us. Now we have rental slop.

I watched Pulp Fiction in the cinema. At first I thought, ok this is in-character, in-world, it makes sense for the art. Then I saw him give himself a cameo appearance 5-min monologue, starting with a push-in shot, specifically so he could say the word a bunch of times.

Yup. I mean, Araki made Mysterious Skin for a fraction of a McD's ad budget and shot the whole thing in 3 weeks - god tier indie film making.

"The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks" - so somewhere around double the time it takes to do the shoot on a 2 hr indie film with a modest budget. The self reporting is so strong with these idiots.

It's worth noting that, like many tech platforms, updates sometimes change your existing defaults/settings for you ... my favourite thing in technology, yay.
