Saw Superman today. It was nice for a Superman movie to have characters that cared more about saving the lives of innocent people than killing the bad guy. So seems like a solid shift in the right direction.

I was just reminded about what a wonderful creator and person Dwayne McDuffie was. A truly rare talent who was able to work on characters that had been around for decades and simultaneously capture their voices while also defining them. He left us too young. I still miss him.

Started reading some banned graphic novels. Here’s a really good read that I can’t fathom how it got banned other than the main character just being Black. Which, right now seems to be enough…. Support authors and banned books, folks!

For me it’s this. Because I think it’s clever and kind of ballsy but also defines Cyclops for me as a character in a way that no other take on him ever did. And it’s fine in just two panels. Distilled to his essence. For me, that’s great great.

Finally caught THE WILD ROBOT yesterday and it was so endearing. A beautifully animated picture with a heart of gold. Loved it!

Started watching the Watchmen HBO series again. It took me several episodes to get into it the first time. Nit the case this time around. I was hooked again in the first episode and also catching so many details I missed first time around. The level of craft is extraordinary.

In Comics Experience's Community PRO program, we've started holding these Live Studio sessions four times per week where several pros and members get online together and do concentrated work for 30 minutes at a time. I'd never done this before but it's AWESOME. #comics www.comicsexperience.com

I love watching Premiere League games in the morning on the weekends. What’s funny to me is how weird it would feel living in England with them being in the afternoon and night. I’m sure I’d get used to it…

Generally, I'll be talking comics, but going on the reading theme, I just finished reading RENDEZVOUS WITH RAMA by Arthur C. Clarke (I'm a little late, I know) and it was FANTASTIC. Easily my favorite of his books I've read yet. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
