I was working on Upcoming at Yahoo at the time it came out, in the same department as everyone working on Yahoo! Maps. I distinctly remember going to a Yahoo! Local meeting where they excitedly shared that Yahoo! Maps was mentioned on SNL... and then they showed the clip. Not great for morale!

Unofficial copies immediately popped up on YouTube, which had just launched that year and exited beta earlier that week, getting over 5 million views in a few days. Two months later, NBC Universal ordered YouTube to take it offline, along with 500 other NBC clips. Geniuses!
