Will give it a listen. I read both versions of the novel at the time so this is going to be fun!

There was a shelf of other Marvel figures I spotted at one point but they were all mid-90s era figures and no way they would still have been on sale, let alone on one of the major displays in 2004. We still had the occasional peg-warming figure from even a decade earlier buy only a few.

I figured it was a nod to that. Our shop did have a lot of Spider-Man merch that year because Spider-Man 2 was out but it was all pretty much movie-related tie-in stuff, rather than the more generic stuff depicted here.
