These are in the minority: there are quite a few more “wows” and “%relative talked about this” comments, which is good to see. But it’s still obnoxious and just… counter productive? Nothing in the post talked about climate change and it just feels like arguing for the sake of arguing.

So I never deleted TO's Substack account: I kept it in place to use it as a wayfinder, as a handful of folks had been recommending it. I just transfer the new subscribers over when they come in.

And, philosophical issues aside, the day-to-day feature of "writers first" feels like it's taken a back seat to building the tools to have people find your publication. They've done a good job with it: I still have people filter in from Substack, even though I haven't published TO there in years.

Their free speech absolutism is a huge problem for them, and it was a huge reason for why I ended up migrating.
