Hard disagree. Total Recall was a satirical masterpiece.

Growing up as a Catholic, when we were still conscious of being a minority, I was fed a lot of positive propaganda about Savile as a kid. He raised money for charity, he loved his old mum, the Pope knighted him... And he made kids' wishes come true. Lots of grown-ups seemed weird to me.

Thing is, the BBC is not just a news network. And its entertainment shows, over the 30 years or so, have done a lot to improve the visibility and representation of marginalised groups in mainstream media. This is one reason the right hates it so much, and wants to destroy it.

Absolute banger of a tune

And if UKIP had won all those seats back in the day, Brexit would never have happened.

I've been arguing for PR for a long time, since back when one of the common objections was "but UKIP would get lots of seats!" The point of PR is not for it to deliver a government you find acceptable, but to better reflect the views of the electorate.

I've never got Leonard Cohen. This appals many of my contemporaries.

Also because the centre caves to the right, but pushes against the left... As we are seeing right now in the UK and US

Ooh, I didn't know she'd done that one. One of my favourite Donovan songs.

More importantly, who are the Big Dogs?

I think they want people hungry because then they'll either be too weak and exhausted to resist, or start rioting (then they can send in the ICEstapo and cart them off to camps.)

I am, at least these days, very easy to handle.

For 80s alternative rock fans, I always serenade my eggplant: "Aubergine, from the heavens to the bottom of the sea..."

Then there's the moment 38 minutes into series 6 episode 3, over which we shall draw a discreet veil.

Don't rewatch Columbo. Apart from Falk's personal charisma and the odd clever idea, it's shonky as hell. Slow, clunky, with some ludicrous resolutions, and toecurling camp. (I don't know which is worse, the London episode or the one where the robot programs a computer with his floppy robot arms.)
