People need to calm down about the Oreshnik missile. (Not about the strike itself, which was barbarous Putin chest-thumping.)
It's a medium range ballistic missile. Of course it's faster than the speed of sound because that's what ballistic missiles do. Don't fall for "AMAZING SUPERWEAPON" hype.

It has been a year since I defended my thesis on the role of military doctrine.

As a child who grew up without connections to academia, this was unthinkable. However, meeting the right people along the way made it all possible.

This is one of my favorite, low-tech, ways of visualizing the past! Doesn't oversell the reconstruction, shows possible past and present in same view, works, rain or shine and without power.
An interesting way to help people visualize what a ruin used to be.
