Early refugee from the Bad Place. IT security, forensics and investigations guy with far too many history books. All opinions personal and do not reflect etc. etc.
Apologies. Sometimes difficult to tell sarcasm from anything else around here.

I also live my life around AI boosters.

It’s also early where I am.

Truth is not a factor for LLMs. They are quite literally bullshit generating engines. Their purpose is to be believed, not to be correct.

Mind you, I’ve met many people for whom the truth was nothing more than what they could persuade people to believe. We all know one such person - Donald Trump.

Well, Charles I did that and it worked out great… for Parliament, not so much for Charles.

He partially succeeded. That’s why German’s call it Christkindlnacht - Christ Child Night, and Germans go to the annual Christkindlmarkt.

It’s why offices do Kris Kindles. It’s also why Yanks sometimes call the guy in the red suit Kris Kringle.

…and we have to even let the planes of belligerent powers land, as long as they’re not on combat missions.
November 24, 2025 at 9:27 AM
The first statement isn’t true. Under international law, stopping planes of a particular country from using Shannon would infringe our neutrality. We have to let Russian, Chinese and other countries’ planes land too.
There are rules - planes on combat missions are banned etc.
Neutrality ain’t easy.

It’s four times bigger that IJN Shinano, the biggest ship ever sunk with torpedoes. That’s kind of impressive while also being really depressing.

Someone once said that sea travel is like being in prison with the additional possibility of being drowned. For cruise liners this is especially true.

And not Nightfall..?!

Bloody heretics.
November 22, 2025 at 9:30 PM
You might also see what kind of neutral we were in WWII.

But that would actually require knowledge and a degree of analysis so I guess I’m talking to the wrong fuckwit, sorry, person.

Mute button time.

Another Google expert!

Did your extensive Google search tell you also that the Irish President is a figurehead with practically no real power?
Maybe you should have a look to see what condition Ireland was in after several hundred years of colonial rule, and a six year trade embargo by the British?
November 22, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Nope. Not arguing with a deluded “true believer”. Not again.

Learn some freaking economics.

Muting now.

You’re so close to getting a grip on reality here…

It’s not an effective medium of exchange. It’s much too slow and inconvenient.
It’s not a reliable store of value - its value swings wildly.
It’s not a reliable unit of exchange - even the cyber criminals prefer stablecoins.

It’s not a currency.

… mostly what it enables is crime.

I know, I’m one of the poor bastards that gets to pick up the pieces afterwards (and even the hackers tend to use Tether these days.)

There is an almost cult-like following for the phenomenon, which is probably why it’s been around so long while remaining useless
November 22, 2025 at 1:48 PM
Ah. A moron.

Have a look at which air routes pass over Ireland and see if you think that it’s a good thing that they’re being jammed.

And Ireland isn’t anti-anything. It’s just neutral.

I suspect you’re one of those balls-for-brains types who thinks if someone isn’t for you they must be against?,

Going to be tricky. Texas is on record that the gerrymander is specifically racial and SCOTUS’ grounds for gutting the Voting Rights Act was that it applied unconstitutional racial discrimination (utter bollocks, but that’s what they determined.) They might do a full reverse-ferret but they mightn’t

Why would the EU have a sense of urgency? They have several other major problems and current polls in the UK show an anti-EU party taking over in 4 years.
