Oh, apologies John, I somehow thought it was an mtb mishap! Yikes, yes, something out of the blue like this would have me feeling a little rattled and fragile too, reliant on my body and health. I guess convalescence reflections can run deep, throw up all sorts! May inspire new thinking, too... :)

It did throw me though, suddenly realising all the risks inherent in cycling, especially off road. But these were also part of the joy and aliveness of it all. In a short time I'd refound my confidence and flow, it weirdly brought a new stronger respect and enjoyment for it all.

It also gave me a new respect for my limits. Meant I stayed within a much more comfortable zone, took fewer risks, enjoyed cruisy rides more. Not that I was doing anything advanced or clever, more that I was taking risks beyond my very basic skill level.

Mtb crash aged 30 fractured pelvis, ribs, dislocated shoulder. Pushed bike to pub, when I nearly passed out there realised I ought be in A&E. For two-three years after all healed, I'd sometimes feel a twinge where fracture was when I did something risky. Funny/clever thing the mind! All good now :)

It is widely known that the particulate pollution (smoke) produced by using solid fuel is a massive source of urban #airpollution in the wintertime. Irrespective of what fuel you use..... some ARE better than others BUT still hundreds of times more pollution that gas

Sigh. ME/CFS means any semblence of life is always held just out of reach :(

Oh right, thanks Paula, not just me on the tax then. I wonder what changed.

I'll drop them a line too.

What's weird is I wasn't charged this tax on previous orders. Weird.

Going to message the maker, Terra Biologica, to ask if they're exploring UK-based retail/distribution. I really need to keep using the Oxalo, it's made life so much better.
