Corey Hutchins opens 2026 digging deeper into a one-sided take on his Colorado media friends & colleagues. By elevating the same tired figures who regularly set aside accountability, including Vince Bzdek & Steve Zansberg, he does not examine but reinforces distrust in media. Let’s take a look.

Trump:

"If Iran shots [SIC] and violently kills peaceful protesters, which is their custom, the United States of America will come to their rescue….We are locked and loaded and ready to go. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

Elon Musk had his algorithm show the Nick Shirley videos to pretty much everyone who visited the platform, boasting over 100 million views. This example of a large silo where everyone sees the same thing, including disinformation, is going to be super intense during the next election.

TIL: It’s astounding Steve Zansberg threatens legal filings before identifying any factual or legal basis. This bad-faith use of law prioritizes procedural tactics over truth & raises concerns about misuse of legal processes by his clients, including Alden Global Capital & unfortunately, @npr.org

The early web was driven by curiosity & openness, not monetization.

Audrey Witters reflects on that era, using her now-famous animated alien GIF as an example of how playful, freely-shared work helped shape digital culture & why preserving it matters.

One thing I can’t figure out is why they would want everybody to stop taking vaccines. What’s in it for the Republican Party to be like this?

I hope NPR wins. In my lawsuit against Heath Freeman, Randall Smith & Alden Global, when I learned Zansberg was their lawyer, I was expecting an honest lawyer who cared about the truth. I was surprised he took their case for $ on blind faith, disregards the truth as a tactic, & uses estoppel. 1/
In court last week, Zansberg told the judge that beyond being unconstitutional, Trump’s executive order “continues to this day to have direct and real and speech-chilling impacts on all three of the NPR stations.”

Who in the U.S. would want to decimate the democracy of news (not just one sided political news), who would want to decimate housing, & who would want to decimate transportation like Greyhound? Not sure, but apparently the majority of Alden Global shareholders are unnamed & live outside of the U.S.

Keep your eyes on The Private Equity Stakeholder Project (PESP) for ongoing updates on the allegations of fraud by Alden Global Capital’s Homes of America department. PESP has been tracking the harms to people for years:
