More to your point—both fusion and interdisciplinary work falter when they’re treated as ends in themselves instead of as a means for making the final product as strong as possible

Yeah I suppose I mean modern fusion. But I’m also generally skeptical of things like Tex-Mex or California Pizza

I do avoid “fusion” restaurants 🤔

Looking forward to reading it!

Yeah, fair. The combination of the two definitely leads to this bad result.

My comment was more towards a general vibe I get from both academics and practitioners that seems focused on test-based admissions as a solution.

I think the idea that this caused by test optional policies is oversimplifying the problem. Grade inflation is happening at universities too—the average undergrad GPA at UVA is a 3.6! Another symptom IMHO.

Reminds me of cheating under NCLB. There are strong incentives so the system is gamed.

Just sad and disturbing

Agreed, but put them under oath and disbar the dishonest lawyers

Spanberger should remove Sheridan ASAP. The bar to do so is legally is really low and she, as governor, is the sole judge. Call an investigation, put all these people under oath, and get them out of here.

This is awesome and super clever.

It reminds me of my best friend in 8th grade who slept with his shoes on to save time getting ready in the morning lol

Bad guy confirms he is bad

Just vibes, but I feel like this trend has already been a disaster in the car market. It’s become normalized for people to take out 6 or even 7(!) year auto loans

Hi Trevor, I find this really interesting. Do you have any readings, yours or otherwise, that explain this idea further?

Thanks for sharing, Cara!

Excited to see more research on this as rollout continues

TP being on Paramount+ drove me to spend $70 on the box set (which is awesome)
