Speaking of stray cats do you know any shelters other than PAWS around PJ? Have an injured kitten that I've been feeding but I can't really afford to bring her to the vet.

Yes, I did post a similar thread a few hours back but I wasn't satisfied with its quality and didn't feel that it conveyed my thoughts well enough.

By omitting such important information, the AWSM, through ignorance or malice, plays into Russian narratives surrounding Ukraine. They also do a disservice to our anarchist comrades who have died fighting on the frontlines against Russian imperialism, and the ones still doing so. (8/8)

So it is absolutely crucial to mention this aspect of the war as it radically changes the dynamic. No longer is it just "another war" between the ruling classes of two opposing nation-states, but an attempt by Putin to subjugate a whole people, an expression of Great Russian chauvinism. (7/8)

In Donbas and other occupied territories, the Russian government has been carrying out Russification campaigns and forcing Ukrainians to get Russian passports. It has brought Russians from Russia proper to settle in regions it has conquered; in other words, settler colonialism. (6/8)

4. Failure to mention and condemn Russian settler colonialism and genocide of Ukrainians. While the writers mention Russian imperialism and dispel the myth that the Russian army entered Ukraine to protect Russian speakers, you will find no mention of the Russian colonial project. (5/8)

The Ukrainians did come to the negotiating table and offered autonomy to Donetsk and Luhansk, this despite the fact doing so would've given Russia more influence than ever over Ukrainian politics, allowing it to manipulate the country into serving its interests as if a puppet master. (4/8)

3. Misrepresentation of reality. The writers claim Ukrainian "refusal to engage in meaningful dialogue" and criticises the "imposition of military solutions over political negotiations". This is perhaps not just a misrepresentation but a falsification of history. (3/8)
February 22, 2025 at 1:04 PM
2. Portrayal of Ukraine as the aggressor. The writers fail to mention that the separatists, who were not just "supported and exploited" by Russia, but in actuality led by Russians, initiated armed confrontation by taking over government buildings anywhere in their text. (2/8)
