I don't know ftm timelines well enough to know what one could get away with after 9 months, so I guess I can't argue against that with too much conviction.

I mean, I appreciate it and know where you're coming from, but I do think there's a good chance she might have just thought I'm a trans man who isn't out yet and therefore doesn't try to present masc at all. In which case, it would mean I pass very well from her perspective as well.
