I mean they were basically forced to update the icon. Any non-standard icons in this new update are forced to be a square, but this behavior only shows up sometimes, for example when something is pinned to the dock versus opened

The Nintendo Wii's maximum resolution is 480p. I was messing with a converter from Wii component to HDMI, which notably did not scale the output higher, keeping it at 480p. I plugged it into my monitor, who's native resolution is 4k, noticed there was a 1:1 option, which produced that result.
