What makes me saddest (and angriest) is the two moms of autistic children who spoke. Standing up there like props and saying "Thank god for this administration" and praising Trump. They're being used and their kids are ultimately going to be the ones who suffer for it...

The fact that he started talking about the MMR vaccine ("Measles, mumps...) and clearly did not know that the "R" stood for rubella...

Still here for the way Michael swoons the instant David touches his back…

Who among us would *not* react that way, really...

I feel like this would be closer to David's reaction at seeing Michael's bare bum...

Also Michael saying "Hello, bubba" when he took the dog from David at the BAFTAs last year...

Or Michael wore it as an overshirt to David's house and "accidentally" forgot it because he knows David likes it so much and secretly left it for him...

I am a founding member of an Emerging Leaders initiative at Autism Speaks, which works to elevate autistic voices within the organization. AS worked with the film studio, Lionsgate, and was invited to attend the premiere, and all of us EL members were offered an invitation to attend as well.

This film was based on a true story, but I don't know that it did the real people justice. The experiences the character had in school were similar to experiences I had, but it's still very different for a girl. The kid playing the autistic boy was definitely a bright spot of the movie, though...

Mixed feelings. The portrayal of the autistic son was better than I've seen in a lot of films (we actually got a look into his internal life, which is often missing from these films), but he still ultimately became a vehicle for the father's personal growth/arc, which was disappointing...

If there is anything that epitomizes paying lip service to a faith without understanding or adhering to its actual teachings and tenets, this is it. I have seen far too many "Catholics" recently who expect God to be a reflection of their hatred and who they are, instead of the other way around...

The lack of empathy that has taken root, along with unfettered racism, sexism, and ableism, is unfathomable. I want always to look and hope for the best in people, but it seems too many are too happy to disregard the humanity of others. None of this should be normal. None of this is okay...
