He could only imagine how it looked to her as his limbs slipped out of the darkness, as the candle illuminated the pale white skin of his chest, as his body loomed over hers. Monster they had called him, and that hadn’t been wrong. His body was monstrous. Terrifying. The fur on his limbs looked like it was inked from the night. The wings unfurling from his back were more reminiscent of a demon’s than a bat’s.
