As COP30 negotiations begin, we remember the Ogoni Nine, and demand that this COP result in commitments to protect human rights defenders and phase out fossil fuels.
Today marks the 30th anniversary of the Ogoni Nine who were executed by the Nigerian military government in November 1995 after campaigning against widespread oil pollution in the Niger Delta.
