May I commend French funky-popsters L’Impératrice to you. Masters of stage craft, Nile Rogers’ guitar licks and slap bass solos. Brilliant live last night at Vega (but oddly a bit rubbish at studio recordings).

From a distance I thought this was one of those Damien Hirst underwater silly things. But it’s bloody well 2100 years old. From the wreck where they found the antikythera. Currently at Lousiana Museum.

Puy lentils look much like urad dal, don’t they? But I can tell you that they do not respond so well to being mistakenly cooked for three hours.
