When we live in a society where we need money to survive through manual labor, and automation comes along and takes away what was otherwise stable jobs,*of course* people are going to be afraid!

Could somebody see some art and be inspired to do it? Yes. But the same argument could be used against real events, real history. Somebody could see Adolf Hitler as an inspiration. We see it today.
