I think an important part of it is what you see yourself as and what you see other as. If you're able to see your friends as being a similar level of weird as you then it's easier to view them in that way as well.

It could be a headspace thing. When you're online, it can be easier to shift into a headspace of enjoying the weird and wild but irl is more sobering.
If you're able to get into the headspace to enjoy the weird stuff irl, maybe it becomes easier with friends. You have to trust it's okay.

Literally the only thing that matters is whether it feels special to you or not. Trying to chase what you think is "normal" or what you're "supposed" to do just means you're trying to chase somebody else's special feelings and not your own.

I think that's something that can happen when you're not super comfortable with real world stuff. It can take some time to get used to yourself and others.
It helps to also remember that when it comes to sexual stuff, it should be a judgment free zone too. No self shaming and no shaming others too.
