Firefighters on Monday were working to contain more than 170 wildfires in North and South Carolina that have prompted evacuations, officials said. The largest fire was burning 1,600 acres near Myrtle Beach. nyti.ms/4kq36Li

This makes me so sad...Our parks are some of the most educational, beautiful, and inspiring places on the planet.

Visit them. Be patient with them. Cherish them.

Our parks are in chaos. We’ve seen firsthand how Trump’s hiring freeze, the rescinding of hundreds of job offers, and the layoff of 5% of NPS staff have left us overwhelmed and short-handed.
