Magritte's "The Lovers II." The shadows are beautiful, the subtle pink of the sky, the imposing dark muted frame that contains them. Like soundproofing. I found the curation interesting - as you gaze on this image of shrouded love, a full torso of a naked woman is depicted on the wall beyond.

Still obsessing over the frames and curation at the AGNSW Magritte exhibition. Given how much the frame impacts the art, and Magritte's interest in playing with framing, there's a really interesting piece of work to be done around the material frames and their interaction with each work.

Visited a Magritte exhibition today. Paid attention to the way each work is framed. A lot of the literature doesn’t seem to focus on just how much framing impacts an artwork. Up close, fascinating to wonder how each frame came to be exactly as it is.
