According to the WHO, the global vaccine market is worth about $77 billion. That's a lot of money.

It is also about 1/8 the size of the complementary medicine market, 1/16 the size of the nutrition market — and, if the pharma industry is worth $1.6 trillion, about 1/20 of pharma’s overall revenue.

You could say that some of this is because the wellness industry includes so many different products and services: complementary medicine, gyms, supplements, spas, even personal care and beauty. And that’s fair enough. Here’s the breakdown from the Global Wellness Institute in their 2024 report.

A lot of folks are suspicious of the pharmaceutical industry, and its influence, in no small part because of its size. And it’s true: It’s big. Currently, it’s estimated to be worth about $1.6 trillion globally. But the *wellness* industry is currently valued at *$6.3 trillion* — four times bigger.
