4/ I worked closely with the hospital during the pandemic and still—what I learned through these conversations surprised me. I’m so grateful to everyone who trusted us with their stories.

3/ There were tears. There were laughs. And over and over, I heard: what stood out most was how the community came together. How we, as Louisianans, show up for each other in a disaster.

2/ I partnered with Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and LSU to collect stories from hospital staff—execs, doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and more—about how they faced the pandemic.

In July & August 2024, I interviewed 30 hospital staff.

1/ What a labor of love this has been. Two years in the making—and it’s surreal to see it live in the world.

It’s been 5 years since COVID hit our communities. Most of us still haven’t fully processed what we lived through.
