Saving you a Google, as best I can tell, nobody actually lugged pianos to the Arctic. But it was just plausible enough that I could see it being a thing.

I lend out my books with the expectation that they'll never come back to me. If they do, it's a pleasant surprise. If they don't, well, hopefully they liked it as much as I must have.

This doesn't apply to my "special" books, of course, just normal paperbacks/hardbacks.

The Fifth Season, in particular, was long in coming. It's been on my to-read list forever.

I really promise I'll try hard to keep this updated now. To be fair, I haven't read a lot of earth shattering books this past month, and spent a lot of the time recovering from a tonsillectomy.

July has been crazy, but this was quite a book to break my bsky sabbatical on.

I actually agree with a lot of what Sciona says in this book about women's roles in society, but I felt like the author brought down the entire male gender just to make Sciona shine, and that doesn't sit right with me.

I opened my fridge this morning to get some yogurt and granola and found myself giving my block of cheese a long look instead. I took the yogurt, but part of me wanted to ring in Friday with a cheesefest at 6am.
