Retiree and a hiker. I live on the centre left and I try not to swear.
Neo-liberalism at its best. I suspect that VPs get first class medical care at the governments expense. Funny that!

I suppose the argument is that our government is playing 3d chess. Trump’s press secretary says that Canada caved. Just fired off an Email to the PMO. I’m pissed!

The more pertinent question is does it even matter anymore? Obama got it for doing almost nothing. Giving a Nobel to Trump would merely underline its irrelevance.

Shifting to sustainable practices may not be pain free but will be a hell of a lot cheaper than what we will be dealing with if we stay on fossil fuels.

It doesn’t make any sense when the world is moving towards renewables.

Now that is saying something. I wonder how things will be when BYD is finally able to sell here.

And we wonder why northern Canada is burning up!

Thank god I am not an American. This would be so sad if true.

Of course I did. There’s no magic involved here. Resources are limited and are allocated to the greatest need first. Are the people out now? Did anybody die? Provincial emergency authorities decide where the greatest need is. They look at the whole picture and prioritize the response.

These missions have been going on forever. I flew them as a flight engineer on both the Buffalo and Hercules aircraft in the late 80s and into the 90s. The RCAF gets the call and they respond with the resources they have as quickly as possible. More than one evacuation going on.

I don’t understand what you mean by incredible online pressure. The RCAF carries out “Aid to the Civil Power” ops at the direction of the government when those ops are required. Municipal and provincial officials make an assessment, the request is made and the RCAF carries out the mission.

Does Donald even know what a fortnight is?

Nothing says Trump administration like the US Ambassador to Canada. He, like his boss, should learn how to STFU.

So America is on its way to becoming a theocracy just like Iran. A good thing for this Canadian to know.

You have to give yourself at least a metre from the curb for safety when moving. But you should take the lane when coming to red lights and stop signs to avoid being squeezed by right turning cars and allow you to get over the wobbles when starting off after a stop.

What!
May 16, 2025 at 9:43 AM
I hope he does someday. But that will be in another three years or so.

The CPC couldn’t find an interim leader with more political baggage than Andy. And they wonder why they are in opposition.

Congrats on winning your riding. It's very sweet to work on a winning campaign.

This works for me on so many levels.

But remember that the minimum time is 35 days. That’s basically what is happening in this election.
