Argggggggggggh the wait is a real pain, they said they'd let me know this week and it's friday now so you'd think they would do it before the weekend.

A while back I even made a list of things the movies "got wrong" lol🤣
I think the only one that really isn't great imo is for drama they depicted Faramir as wanting to take the ring for Gondor/his father but he actually doesn't and - I think impressively! - by himself decides/concludes it's too evil

It took me years to finish reading LOTR, I did it early on this year. Then I found an audiobook (free, on archive.org !) of it narrated by Andy Serkis (gollum actor!) and went through it once more. It was so good to go through it in a week or two after reading it for over 4 or 5 years on and off

However there are still key highly emotional moments in the books, e.g. "I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you!" And like I said the Sam speech in the Two Towers does happen, but it's not exactly the same (quotes) as in the movie...

It's actually great that the movies have strengths of their own, you know? That emotional quality is a huge part of why they work so well and stay in people's hearts!

Actually one of the great film moments that if memory serves doesn't happen in the book, or more accurately the moment does happen but that quote isn't there!
